I was visiting one of my best friends in Colorado for her birthday. I mentioned that I wanted to look for a dress but not your traditional wedding dress. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time in a bridal shop, so I started looking in department stores. Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Macys. This didn’t mean that it was any less important, I just wanted to try the unconventional way first. Bam! There was MY dress! THE DRESS! When I saw it, I fell in love with it, and when I tried it on, the search was over. I flew back to Houston with a dress. In less than a day of search, I found the perfect dress.
Some things to consider.
Budget: I set a budget for my dress but ended up spending way less than I thought. Don’t limit your options. Try both bridal shops and department stores.
Style: For me, since I’m short and petite, I knew that I wanted a dress that would fit to my natural shape. Something sleek, with straight lines, and minimal.
