I photograph families with softness, with joy, and with space to just be. No forced smiles. No perfect poses. Just the golden, fleeting magic of your real life.
Hi there!

Remember that first morning when the 90s finally break and you step outside to crisp air? Everyone in Houston feels it. The windows come open, the pumpkin spice comes out, and suddenly being outdoors feels good again. That’s my favorite time of year, and it’s also my favorite time for fall family photos.
I’m a mom of three boys, and fall is when we head outside. We go on hikes (they always feel easier when it’s cooler), carve pumpkins, and go out for warm cups of tea or hot chocolate. There are so many fun outdoor events around here, and I love soaking up every one of them with my boys. It’s also the season that reminds me how fast they’re growing, and I don’t want to forget what they look like right now.
If you’ve been wondering whether this is the year to finally get your fall family photos done, let me tell you why I think fall in Hermann Park is the perfect time.

There’s a spot near the Houston Zoo that I adore. The trees are full and leafy, and the light filters through the branches in a way that’s soft and flattering on everyone, from the littlest one to dad.
The ground matters too. A lot of parks have bright green grass that bounces a green cast onto faces, and nobody wants that. This corner doesn’t have that problem, so skin looks warm and natural. You don’t need a fancy backdrop. The trees and the light do the work, and we can relax and let your fall family session feel fun.

So many moms tell me they feel like they have to look like a fall family catalog, plaid and all. Here’s your permission slip: you don’t! I gently steer families away from plaid, and there are so many prettier options.
Part of my process is a wardrobe consultation, so you’re never guessing. We’ll go through it together.

I steer away from bold reds, oranges, and greens, and go for muted versions instead. My favorites are soft neutrals, light browns, soft blues, gentle greens, and pretty pinks. If you love a fall red or orange, a dusty, toned down version will look beautiful too.
These colors don’t compete with the trees and the light, and they photograph beautifully together. Your family looks like themselves, only a little more polished.

Your session shouldn’t feel like a stiff photo shoot. It should feel like spending time with a friend. My clients often tell me it feels like we’ve known each other forever. I guide you the whole way, with conversation and gentle prompts, and I’ll never force a pose. I’d rather bring you back to the moments you love, like your kids giggling or you leaning in for a hug.
The cooler weather helps too. Nobody is sweating or melting, and kids can run, explore, and be themselves. When you’re comfortable, it shows in every photo.

I suggest booking about a month ahead. That gives you time to plan your wardrobe, hair, and makeup without rushing. It also lets you think about what you’d like to do with your photos, like which wall art you want for your walls, so your favorite images end up printed and hung where you see them every day.
It’s the end of September, so booking now lines up with sessions in late October and November, when the air is cooler and the trees are at their fullest.

Fall is a season of hikes, pumpkins, and warm mugs, and it passes quickly. The photos are a way to hold onto it. One day your kids will look back and see how much their mom loved them, and how much fun your family had together.
